Lambcast #718 Queen Bees Get a Keeper [Mean Girls 2024 and The Beekeeper]

by Richard Kirkham · January 15, 2024 · Featured, LAMBcast · No Comments

Double Duty this week on the Lambcast, as two new releases get our attention, and they could not be directed at more completely different audiences. One film features music and dancing by high school kids, working out their adolescent issues, and the other is filled with violence and mayhem because old people were being taken advantage of. Tina Fey and Jason Statham might never work together in a film, but this weeks episode goes down better than “Barbienheimer”.

Broadway made a musical out of the 2004 comedy film starring Lindsay Lohan, and now Hollywood has made a film out of the musical. If this sort of in-breeding appeals to you, you will want to listen to the first half of this week’s show, it totally fetch. The demographics for the audiences for this film skewed 75% female, but all we could get to cover the show this week were a couple of XYs, with a geriatric touch.

Todd Liebenow joined Richard on the show, and we took on Jason Statham as well as Regina George. Statham is holding down the Liam Neeson January spot this year and “The Beekeeper” may more naturally fit the participants in this week’s episode. So, come for the songs and stay for the massacre, everyone is welcome on the Lambcast.
