This week’s show features five LAMBs who have created their own list of subjects to talk about. The mix of topics include directors who got lucky, serial killers we can laugh at, whale hunters to give you nightmares, the worst films of last year and some against the grain recommendations. In other words, we have something for everyone this week.
Dave Anderson, from the “Free Kittens Movie Guide” has a list of directors who only managed to nail it once in spite of multiple chances. Whether you agree with his choices is an interesting question because we had a discussion about a couple of them.
Howard Casner from “Pop Art” has some funny tasting corn flakes for us. It looks like the French and Italians like to laugh at multiple murderers. So if you have a taste for the morbid, Howard has a film for you.
Moby Dick is the Great American Novel, but is there a great film version of the book? Damien Riley from “But I Digress” wanders around the oceans of the cinema world, finding Dicks to share with us. William Hurt, Patrick Stewart, and Gregory Peck are some of the obsessed Ahabs that crew his ship in search of the white whale.
The Vern still has 2024 on his mind and he wants one more swing at what is the pinata of films from last year. Again, not everyone accepts his designations and an exchange of views takes place. That is what we are all about here.
Finally, Richard has some film recommendations that run counter to most opinions. Here are some films with weak reputations that he tries to redeem.
