Are you going to see Jigsaw this weekend? WAIT! What if you haven’t had time to watch all 7 previous Saw movies? What if it’s been years since you last saw them? Can you really trust your memory and knowledge of this franchise’s needlessly complex plotting? Well hold up, it’s OK, the Lambcast is here to give you a rundown of the twists, turns and traps before you venture to the cinema.
Last week on the Lambcast we held a Horror Sequel Draft, in which Vern, Aaron, Damien, Tony and Darren competed to build the best team of horror sequels, without getting lost in the woods and massacred by an immortal, mask-wearing killer. They succeeded in that last bit, so now it’s time to vote for their teams! The poll is at the bottom, but first let’s look at what you’re picking between:
Vote for the winning team...
There are three rules to horror movies: killers don’t really die, final girls are never truly safe, and horror sequels are just plain bad. Or are they? That’s what we’re hoping to find out today!
Darren Lucas takes his first slump into the guest host’s chair for the Horror Sequel Draft, very similar to the Horror Draft from a few years ago, but this time made up entirely of sequels! He was joined in the...
Welcome Back Students!
Rob from MovieRob here!
Like The Director’s Chair series being run by Tony, I think that this reignited series is a great way to get a look at what the members of the Lamb community think about the work of some of the most prolific actors/actresses who have been entertaining us all for so many years.
I plan to try and focus on an actor or actress every month who has a birthday in that given...
This month’s Acting School 101 teacher was Carrie Fisher.
We received a total of 107 reviews for 18 films that Carrie Fisher had parts in.
That’s quite an impressive amount.
Let’s see what the members of the LAMB community thought of her career:
Amazon Women on the Moon (1)
MovieRob
The Blues Brothers (3)
Whatcha been watchin’ lately? Well what we’ve been watchin’ is a bunch of horror movies, come hear about ’em… if you dare!
Todd Liebenow steps into the guest host shoes to lead the discussion on the scary cinema that’s been tickling the eyeballs of Zoe, Howard, Sean, Vern and himself. They cover giallo, lawn darts, and in their own words “a damn fine cannibal film”.
Also on...
Do you love witches? Which witches do you love? Is The Love Witch the witch which you love?
Jess Manzo is the first in a month of guest hosts to take over the Lambcast hosting chair as we look at the Movie of the Month for October, The Love Witch. She was joined by Vern and Tony to cut into its chest cavity and analyse the beating heart within.
Also on tap: Rants and Raves of the Week and a game of Last...
As you should already know by now, Carrie Fisher (RIP) is our actor of the month in the newly-revived Acting School 101 feature, being hosted by me, MovieRob. Alongside the monthly blogathon held here on the LAMB site, I will also be hosting a monthly podcast episode devoted to the actor and their roles, and wouldn’t you know it but that’s this very show here!
I was joined by Todd from the Forgotten Filmz to discuss all...
Just because summer is over doesn’t mean we’re going to stop talking about big summer-type movies, which is exactly what we’ve got in store for you this week with the release of Kingsman: The Golden Circle.
Getting suited and booted to join Jay in the discussion of Matthew Vaughn’s follow-up to the surprise 2014 hit are Rebecca Sharp, Jeanette Ward, Nikhat Zhara and Bubbawheat.
Also on tap:...
We’ve reached the point in the year when pretty much no new movies got released, or at least none that warranted enough reviews to be written, so I’ve delved back through the year to find some of the smaller releases that have clocked up more numbers since their initial release. As such, today we’ll be seeing what the LAMB community has to say about Detroit, Okja, Death Note and Landline. Oh, by the way, this will be the...
It’s Lambpardy time again!
Chris “Tank” Tanski is back to defend his title against former Lambpardy champion Dylan Fields and former Lambpardy non-champion Nick Rehak in a battle for the ages. Who came out on top? Listen to find out! Plus, extra guest appearances from pretty much every guest.
Also on tap: Rants and Raves of the Week and a game of Last Lamb Standing.

It’s rare that one week of cinema brings with it three films I’d actually like to see – or at least, I wanted to see before the initial reviews came out. At the time of writing I’ve only seen one of this week’s crop (Logan Lucky, I recommend it) but Wind River sounds good and I thought The Hitman’s Bodyguard looked pretty entertaining before I heard opinions to the contrary....
