The blockbusters are going to start coming thick and fast as the summer approach begins! This week’s sees the largest Kong yet, taking on an Apocalypse, Now-style army platoon out for his blood, but is it any good? I liked it a great deal, but who cares about what I think, when there’s a whole community of LAMBs to be consulted instead: Kong: Skull Island LAMB Average: 3.20 (15 sites) Mahan’s Media (4.5) The Mundane Adventures...

It’s time for another edition of Bring A Discussion Topic! Jay Cluitt was joined by Heather Baxendale, Zoe Rose Smith, Howard Casner and newcomer Simon Appleton, all of whom brought along a different topic of conversation that they wanted to chat about. We covered trailers, horror music, movie news, directors vs writers and actors, but took a few tangents along the way too, as usual. Also on tap: Rants and Raves of the Week, a game of Last...

Part three of our Jurassic Park movie commentary series is here! Elwood Jones was joined once again by Jay Cluitt as well as Justin Gott, parasailing back onto the Lambcast after far too long of a break. The trio chatted over the movie and it’s many, many flaws, but did their best to at least try and find some positives along the way. We’ll continue the franchise coverage next month, but if there are any other films you think we...

Superhero movies, we get a bunch of ’em every year, and so far 2017’s releases have been enjoyably different from the standard origin stories or more-of-the-same-but-more sequels. The Lego Batman Movie was immensely fun and refused to take itself (or anything, really) seriously for a second (in my opinion it should be topping the Lambscores board by a considerable margin) and now we have James Mangold’s closing of the Wolverine...

It’s time for another round of Lambpardy! And as a special treat, just like last year around this time, we’ve done away with the regular contestants and found some celebrities to compete instead! Sean Connery is back to host, and once again he’s brought along a couple of friends to help him, but don’t worry about them, you should be here for the guests! Team one is Arnold Schwarzenegger and President Ronald Reagan. Team...

It’s a good movie week! Yay! And by the sounds of it, this one is terrific. First-time feature director Jordan Peele (of Key and fame) has apparently knocked it out of the park with his debut, taking a far less comedic approach than expected. Given how much love this film has received there’s no surprise whatsoever that it has found it’s place at the top of the leaderboard, and I think it’ll take quite a bit to shift it....

It is with deepest pride and greatest pleasure that we welcome you tonight. It’s time to relax, pull up some headphones, as the LAMB proudly presents: The Lambcast. For this week’s show Jay Cluitt is joined by Rebecca Sharp, Audrey Fox and Richard Kirkham for the latest Remake-A-Palooza, this time looking at three adaptations of Beauty and the Beast. We started out with Jean Cocteau’s 1946 French version, then the 1991 Disney...

The high riding of last week is sadly behind us as we now embrace the true mediocre scores that come with diverse opinions. These are films that some people appreciated, others did not, and most people seemed to watch then walk away with a shrug and an “it’s OK.” Chances are they won’t be bothering most peoples’ Best Of 2017 lists, but they might just escape the Worst of lists too. Anyway, here’s what the LAMB...

If there’s one thing we love talking about on the Lambcast, it’s time travel movies, so when Timecrimes won the latest Movie of the Month poll we couldn’t wait to discuss Nacho Vigalondo’s cult hit, and now you can listen to that discussion! Jay Cluitt was joined by the movie’s long-awaited champion, Jason Soto, along with time travel fans Robert Zerbe and Jess Manzo, plus self-confessed “time-travel...

Everyone go ahead and breathe a huge sigh of relief, there’s actually some great movies being reviewed this week. Aside from the smaller release of A United Kingdom this week is nothing but sequels, with Fifty Shades Darker, John Wick: Chapter 2 and The Lego Batman Movie all collated together here. One of these films is currently my top film of the year, and I think it might take some amazing to beat it. Speaking of the top film of the...

With the upcoming release of Disney’s live-action remake of Beauty and the Beast it’s the perfect opportunity for us to delve a little deeper into Disney’s back catalogue and celebrate their contribution to animation over the years, and the best way we know how to do this is with a draft! Jay Cluitt was joined by Kristen Lopez, Audrey Fox, Todd Liebenow and Dylan Fields to each compete in building the best team of animated...

Oof. There’s bad weeks and there’s bad weeks, and this is definitely at least one of those options. Not just oen but two movies rated below 1.5 LAMBs? Two 0.5 LAMBs reviews? Next week’s double-bill of Lego Batman and John Wick 2 can’t come quickly enough, so let’s get through today’s less-than-exciting offerings and hopefully next Friday will come along sooner. Here’s what the LAMB community has to say...
