This week we have a couple of horror fans and a couple of non fans to talk about the latest film from A24, “Heretic” featuring Hugh Grant, charming as ever, but this time with a very different purpose and tone. Two missionaries of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints attempt to convert a reclusive Englishman, only to realize he is more than he seems.

Over the years there have been multiple attempts to get this film covered on the LAMBcast. This week, Todd Liebenow, of the Forgotten Filmcast succeeds as the champion of the film for the November MOTM episode.
This episode is jam packed with stories about the original animated series, the release history of this movie, and a whole lotta music talk. We have “Three Small Words” for you, Download the...
We had a draft last month on the Lambcast, selecting horror films from before 1973. Six LAMBs did their best to steal each others picks and find films they loved and thought the community would as well. There were multiple silent films from the 1920s chosen for the lists. We also had exploitation films from the early 1970s added to the choices. The Universal Monsters of the 1930s competed with zombie films from the 1960s. Paranoid atomic...
Every once in a while, the Lamb community collectively says, “Let’s Get Lost”. This week, we prove that “…all who wander, find some interesting stuff to talk about.”. Nicole Ayers, Dave Anderson and Damien Riley join the show this week and meander all over the cinematic landscape (or as we might say “Lambscape”).
From 1933 to 2024, we discover some under discussed movies, because...
We hope it doesn’t make you feel too old, but our Decade Lookback series is traveling to 2010, and most of you will remember that you were not that old and it wasn’t that long ago. Sorry, it’s been 14 years, you figure out what percentage of your life that is.
Howard Casner and Tony Coogan show up for the discussion. We had an overbook episode at one point but it diminished for all kind of reasons. Between the...
Sorry about two polls running simultaneously, just a regular hazard of movie fandom here on the LAMB.
The November MOTM is to be determined by you with this poll. This Poll will close on November 5. The show records on November 10. A short turn around but with the films we have to choose from, completely doable.
Roger Wistar, wishes you would choose “Sneakers” from...
The show was a blast to do with everyone finding a mix of classics and personal favorites. The exercise will not be complete however without some input from the Lamb Community. It’s time to Vote for your favorite slate of films. Fans of James Whale and Jack Arnold will find plenty to tempt them, but Hitchcock is also in contention.

Halloween season brings out the ghoul in most of us. We look for a scare or two, something that excites us or thrills us, but often we don’t look part the end of our own nose. Well that’s not happening this year. The LAMB is committed to films from all eras and even though we don’t yet have a “Silent Film of the Month”, that doesn’t mean there should not be one. For now, you are going to have to make due...
A close vote determined the MOTM this October, but the last minute submission by Matthew Simpson of the “Awesome Friday Podcast” won out. Matthew selected Sam Rami’s 2009, PG-13 horror film, “Drag Me to Hell” and it goes to show that a PG-13 rating does not have to indicate a bad horror movie. On the contrary, this film manages to scare the audience and make us laugh at the same time.

It’s not every week that a new film from one of the great directors of our times drops, but that is exactly what we have on this week’s episode. Director Francis Ford Coppola has delivered a dream project that he has envisioned for four decades at least. As usual, he has taken on great financial risk to achieve his artistic vison, and that dominates the talk about the film elsewhere. Here we talk about the artistic merit of the...
There is a short window for the MOTM poll this October, in part because we are doing a Horror draft the next week and we want to get those episodes in before the actual day of Halloween. As usual, the October MOTM is Horror related and we have quite a slate of films for you to choose from.
Matthew Simpson from the “Awesome Friday Podcast” has submitted the Sam Rami curse film from 2009, “Drag Me to...
A limited selection of MOTM suggestions resulted in an executive decision to go with three time runner up, “Mr. Smith Goes to Washington” as the September MOTM. No one was happier than the film’s frequent champion, James Wilson of “Blogging by Cinema Light”. James was chomping at the bit to discuss this classic film from 1939.
The year 1939 in film is widely considered the greatest year in film history....
